Kamal F. Busaidy, DDS, FACS, FDSRCS
Dr. Kamal Busaidy is a professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Dentistry. He serves as medical director for UT Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, chief of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Shriners Hospital for Children (Houston), and director of Hinds Academy Clinical Simulation Training Facility.
Dr. Busaidy completed dental school in 1992 at the University of London, in England before obtaining a fellowship in dental surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1995. Thereafter, Dr. Busaidy completed residency training in oral and maxillofacial surgery at UTHealth before joining the teaching faculty at The University of Texas in 2002. As part of his clinical duties at the university, he teaches dental students and surgical residents in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
In addition to being a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Faculty of Dentistry, he’s also a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a fellow of the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons, a fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and an examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Busaidy’s main clinical interests are orthognathic and reconstructive surgery, cleft lip and palate surgery, and surgical management of impacted teeth. He has trained extensively in the provision of sedation and anesthesia for outpatient surgery, and he’s licensed by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners to the highest level possible.
In his spare time, he volunteers for Shifa USA, a 501(c)3 providing health care and shelter to the less fortunate in Houston.
